Fly Fishing Classes
We offer a class which we call a "Crash Course in Fly fishing". It is a lot of fun and designed to easily teach you the basics of fly fishing within a few hours so you can go out on to the river yourself and have some fun.
Who will conduct the classes?
The classes will be conducted by very experienced fishermen who guide and have a wealth of experience in both teaching and in all aspects of fly fishing.
What is the size of each class?
To ensure quality instruction and an engaging atmosphere, each class is limited to 6 students.
Each class will be conducted by up to 2 guide/instructors having no more than 3 students each over the period of the class.
What is the goal of the class?
We aim to ensure that you will learn enough from the class to enable you to get out onto the river on your own and catch fish. The classes are NOT DESIGNED to spend most of the time selling you trips or equipment.
What will you learn in the class?
We will teach you the following - Rod rigging, Knot instruction, casting instruction, reading water and entomology.
Who will benefit from the class?
Our goal is to introduce all ages to fly fishing. That includes children. Ideally we prefer the youngest age to be 10 but with family groups, we will work in with your requirements.
How long is the class?
The classes will be conducted over 1 day for a total of 3 hours.
Where is the class conducted?
The class will be conducted streamside in Downtown Durango.
What is the cost?
The total cost of the class is $175. You will be provided with all equipment necessary to participate in the class.
