Classes and camps

As we indicated at the outset, if you are interested in learning about fly fishing from time to time we conduct classes and a kid's camp for that purpose.

Individual lessons. We can arrange a guide for you who is excellent at teaching the basics of fly fishing over whatever period you require. Often we find that a half day lesson is a good way to start to find out whether you or your family want to spend some more time learning about it. The cost is the same as any half day guide trip and all equipment is provided.

Classes. This year in Durango we will be instituting half day classes over the summer for those interested in learning about fly fishing. The classes will be in small groups of up to 4 people and will be taken by a guide. Call the shop for more details. We will be advertising as the season approached.

Kids Camps. At Basalt we conduct a 2 days kids camp on the Frying Pan on our private pond and our private stretch of the Frying Pan river. This year we have 2 camps, one in May and one in June. Depending on demand we will add more camps. It is an excellent way for a family to spend time with their children learning fly fishing for 2 days.
